‘Always carry your passport.’
It’s a piece of advice we’ve passed down for years; we’ve built our business on strong relationships and we try to be as close as possible to our customers, suppliers and staff across the world.
We’re now more global than ever – even if these days you’re less likely to have to drop everything to head to the airport. With offices in over 60 countries you’ll find yourself working with colleagues from all over the world.
What we look for in our people
To thrive at ED&F Man, you’ve got to be agile and be able to take a global perspective. You’ll be keen to develop trust and long-term relationships with your customers, colleagues and suppliers, and work with others to meet our corporate responsibility and commercial goals.
We want entrepreneurially minded people with ambition and determination – and a sense of humour helps. We’re employee-owned so you’ll have a direct influence on our success. If you have ideas to grow our business, we’ll give you the backing and opportunity to make it happen.
You’ll embrace your entrepreneurial spirit
If you have an idea that will grow our business, you will be encouraged make it happen. Whether you want to help farmers improve their yields, take a product into a new country or help a customer solve a problem with a financial service, you’ll be in the driving seat. So if you can think globally and generate ideas to make our business better, you’ll earn our support.
You’ll make great connections worldwide
We’re the crucial link between farmers and producers and their markets. That’s why we have people in over 60 countries who know their market inside out. So you could find yourself working with a Ugandan coffee trader, a Philippine sugar merchant or an equities broker from London. We value smart, talented people from all backgrounds.
You’ll join a partnership culture
Working here feels different. We’re a global organisation that encourages everyone in the company to take the initiative and make an impact – you will not just be a 'cog in a large machine'. We help each other reach our potential. ED&F Man’s employees hold the majority of our shares; it’s your business. We encourage our people to respect each other, listen and ask questions, and help each other succeed – your efforts will directly benefit you and the people you work with.
