Role Overview

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct Due Diligence and Know Your Customer (KYC), including AML, checks for the onboarding of new counterparties, and refresh/ ongoing monitoring for pre-existing counterparties as part of the ED&F Man Group Sanctions & Due Diligence policy and procedures.
  • Perform screening by reviewing counterparty documentation, trade capture data, and external screening tools and validating the information obtained on the counterparty using a variety of independent research sources.
  • Perform data quality review of KYC requests for completeness, including ensuring all appropriate information is contained in the KYC to meet all regulatory, legal, bank and audit requirements.
  • Execute and review negative media alerts from client screening and escalate where necessary.
  • Understand sanctions risks and AML requirements, documentary red flags and approaches to mitigate risk during due diligence checks.
  • Perform additional due diligence on high-risk counterparties, or where a red flag has been raised.
  • Maintain detailed records on counterparties for second-level review, and internal audit/ external regulatory inspection.
  • Liaise with counterparties, Front Office, Credit, Legal and Operations as necessary as part of the KYC process.
  • Support process documentation exercise for all future regulatory changes and process improvements within the scope of KYC/ AML.
  • Prepare management information on number of counterparties screened, timeliness of screening, red flag rates, approval, and rejection rates for Head of Compliance.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of Sanctions and AML related regulations.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in due diligence/ KYC role.
  • Experience of working with industry standard GRC software (such as Lexis Nexis, Refinitiv, Thomson Reuters) and screening tools (Dow Jones, Dun & Bradstreet, BvD)
  • Experience in a commodities or physical trading environment would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical solutions. Proficiency in strategic analysis.

Technical/Professional Qualifications

Key Accountabilities

  • Ownership and processing of all treasury accounting postings for the relevant MTM entities in Kyriba. Postings from deal capture in TMS through to trial balance postings.
  • Accounting postings for all derivative transactions including FX.
  • Preparation and first review of debt, debt transaction costs and interest postings/ calculations.
  • Accuracy and integrity of prepared accounts, through completion of “first line” reviews and validations.
  • Compliance with the formally defined process for the annotation, recording and approval of all manual adjustments, to ensure a transparent and independently verifiable audit trail.
  • Preparation of notes and associated first reviews, to ensure accuracy and clarity of explanation, an audit trail and the prevention of errors and misstatements.
  • Preparation of all accounts and other information required for statutory compliance for treasury consolidation entities.
  • Provision of commentary, analysis and insights for treasury consolidation entity P&L and balance Sheet line items each month, quarter and year end.
  • Continually improve treasury accounting processes and further development of TMS automation. Identification and enhancement to consolidation processes as well as any reporting improvements for efficiencies.
  • Application of accounting policies and control processes, to ensure the integrity of consolidation accounts. Undertake control reporting to ensure accuracy of interfaced data between systems including reconciliations.
  • Compliance with a standard set of definitions for the Group’s Chart of Accounts, to align inputs and outputs and eliminate the need for manual adjustments driven by different definitions and compositions.
  • Work in collaboration with the Finance team to provide timely support, analysis and reconciliation over month end reporting timelines.
  • Lead or contribute to accounting projects related to treasury processes and reporting.

  • Work closely with the UK Payroll & Benefits Manager to assist with the smooth running of the UK monthly payroll in accordance with the agreed processes and deadlines.
  • Assist in the processing of the full payroll lifecycle of UK employees (including leaver, joiner and transfer processes).

The Consolidation Accountant is core to the Group’s financial reporting through the accurate and on-time preparation of consolidated financial statements for management and external stakeholders, and for statutory reporting.

This role is designated to support the Group Consolidation Manager in the preparation of the monthly reporting and annual financial statements, as well as day to day support of the Group Finance function.

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordination and delivery of system enhancements from assessment and specification of new business requirements through to implementation.
  • Participate in the full lifecycle of development including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deploying, maintaining, and providing end user support.
  • Liaison with in-house Technology teams, external system programmers, commercial trading and accounting managers, and end users.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience of working either in a technology department or within technology projects in a trading business preferably agricultural soft commodities, or from a technology consultancy with commodity trading clients. We would also consider, energy, hard commodities, and financial services.
  • You will have business facing experience and strong commercial awareness.
  • Understanding of business processes, commercial trading activities (essential) and accounting principles (desirable).
  • Ability to understand the interaction between the business needs and technology, including system design concepts.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between the business and technology, providing clarity without technical jargon.
  • Project management skills with experience of managing business and technology resources.
  • Self-motivated with the drive to push forward projects and ensure business buy-in.
  • Used to working collaboratively within a team to accomplish joint goals.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as a Treasury Analyst to work in a truly global environment reporting to Treasury Manager. The Treasury Analyst will form part of the treasury operations department and help oversee and execute daily treasury activities, perform month-end duties, and monitor daily controls. The treasury team is part of group treasury which is based across London and Amsterdam. This role has great growth opportunities as the team is in the transition and working on automating currently manual processes.

  • Providing front line customer service to internal clients and banks, answering queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Intra-day cash management for group treasury.
  • Cash forecasting for the group, daily cash management reporting.
  • Bank account administration and maintenance.
  • Manage internal and external loans and bank fees.
  • Performing corporate treasury activities such as;
    • Process payments using online banking systems.
    • Funding.
    • FX and debt settlements.
    • Record treasury transactions in treasury management system (Kyriba).
  • FX hedging execution using FXall – arrange spot, forward and swap trades, in line with the group treasury policy.
  • Assist with the resolution of payment, loan and FX discrepancies.
  • Assist in month-end reporting on treasury transactions and intercompany balances.
  • Assist in system developments (Kyriba and TPS).
  • Systems used include: FXall (electronic trading platform), Kyriba (treasury management system), TPS (in-house treasury payment system) and banking platforms.

Skills and Experience

The post-holder will need a high level of attention to detail and the flexibility to perform a wide variety of tasks in the broader treasury department.  The post-holder will also need to have a strong customer focus, be adaptable to change and be able to proactively work with the team.

Essential:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business economics, accounting, or finance.
  • Experience in accounting or treasury.
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills.
  • Continuous improvement mind-set.

Desirable:

  • An understanding of treasury accounting principles.
