Key Accountabilities

  • Take full ownership of the end-to-end documentation process for global shipments, ensuring proactive resolution of issues and continuous improvement of documentation workflows.
  • Review and verify sales contracts, shipping instructions, and Letters of Credit (LCs) with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation; proactively clarify and revise terms in collaboration with trade finance and commercial teams.
  • Execute ocean carrier AES/SI filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to prevent container splits or rolls.
  • Lead the coordination and verification of all third-party documentation, including Phytosanitary Certificates, Quality Certificates, Ocean Bills of Lading, and Certificates of Origin.
  • Generate precise and compliant commercial and intercompany invoices.
  • Liaise with USDA and PCIT offices to obtain Phytosanitary Certificates, ensuring compliance with importing country regulations.
  • Ensure that all required documentation is assembled, verified, and submitted to banks and customers in alignment with LC and contractual deadlines.
  • Manage presentation of shipping documents to banks for LC negotiation, acceptance, or payment processing across multiple global contracts.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with internal and external stakeholders including merchants, logistics teams, banks, ocean carriers, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth, on-time shipment execution.
  • Provide proactive updates to customers and internal teams on documentation and shipment status, using digital tools and systems to maintain transparency and visibility.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, embracing automation or system enhancements that increase documentation speed, accuracy, and compliance.

Skills and Experience

  • Prior hands-on experience working with Letters of Credit and a solid understanding of trade finance documentation processes.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment with multiple priorities and evolving global regulations.
  • Strong technical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and a high degree of comfort working with logistics platforms, ERP systems, or data/document automation tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey clear documentation instructions to international partners.

The position is based remotely throughout the Southeast of the US, with substantial travel required during the buying season September to March.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement and manage regional procurement and contracting strategies, ensuring overall alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Management of general buying positions, contract exposure, credit, freight and logistics in conjunction with the internal team, to meet or exceed budgeted volumes and margins.
  • Achieve fiscal procurement through various contract options that align with the corporate strategy (e.g. Customer Basis Adjustment).
  • Conduct analysis of the current and future agricultural trends alongside competitor analysis to develop and implement strategies to create commercial opportunities.
  • Management of purchase contracts alongside internal support teams.
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with customers (including agents) in respective regions, identifying new business opportunities whilst balancing profitability, market share and customer service.
  • Provide customer learning opportunities that provide incremental value, regarding strategies in order to increase awareness of customer/business needs.
  • Responsible for establishing marketing plans to achieve margin and volume objectives, alongside the trading team.
  • Coordinate research, analysis and gathering of information to support the regional production and quality model.
  • Track purchase levels for month end P&L to ensure reconciliation and weekly reports of market structure and activity in the region, related to trade levels, volumes and competitor information.
  • Represents the business in regional industry groups.

Skills and Experience

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of trade execution, including contract fulfilment, documentation and delivery tracking.

Skills and Experience

  • Substantial global logistics management, trade execution or trade operations experience from agricultural soft commodity trading, preferably cotton, although metal trading is also relevant.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, self-motivate and lead in high-pressure, time-sensitive trading environments.
  • Knowledge and experience of contract management within trading, reimbursements and documentary, letters of credit.
  • Deep knowledge of international trade documentation, Incoterms, and port/inland logistics.
  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on and problem-solving approach.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate, manage and constructively engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across diverse cultures and regions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supporting the day-to-day supply chain operations related to the export of cotton from point of origin to end users.
  • Track and report shipment status, coordinating movement of raw cotton bales.
  • Negotiate freight with vendors for domestic and international shipments as well as international export bookings with ocean carriers.
  • Coordinate logistics via ocean, rail and truck to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery, continuously reviewing to optimize freight costs.
  • Prepare and verify trade documentations, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificates, offer sheets and shipping instructions.
  • Responsible for minimizing storage costs through diligent scheduling of loads against all sales contracts.
  • Work with Third Party Logistics providers and warehouses to resolve any issues in the supply chain.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA, APHIS trade export requirements.
  • Assist in managing cotton inventory, preparing and communicating inventory levels.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Educated at Bachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably in the field of Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Economics or similar related field.
  • Prior experience in supply chain, logistics, or trade operations in agriculture.
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry is an asset, including experience with inventory management and TMS systems (ITAS, broker platforms).
  • Demonstrates understanding of Inco terms and ability to negotiate freight and truck rates.
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to adhere to deadlines and ensure accuracy.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with data analysis tools.
  • Working knowledge of USDA, APHIS export reporting, experience with export documentation and phytosanitary certification compliance is preferable.
  • Knowledge of international cotton supply chain is preferable.
  • Good attention to detail especially when doing trade reporting and data analysis.
  • Problem solving mindset with a proactive approach to trade operations.
