Role Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join a world leading trader of agricultural commodities as an Accountant on a temporary basis until the end of December 2025. The position is responsible for working closely with the accounting & finance department to ensure seamless integration and functionality. The role provides a great insight for someone eager to demonstrate their skills and experience in the fast-paced soft commodities environment.

Our Volcafe Way farmer support programme engages with thousands of coffee farmers and provides a holistic response to the challenges they face.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes in alignment with general ledger standards.
- Process and post incoming and outgoing payment transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor and follow up on overdue payments, including issuing reminders and calculating interest on late payments.
- Prepare and deliver weekly debtor reports for the Risk Management department.
- Perform regular bank account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and ensure compliance with internal policies.
- Support the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Assist with additional finance-related tasks and projects as required.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelors Degree educated in Accounting, Finance or related field, or completion of 3-year commercial apprenticeship.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in accounting.
- Strong command of written and spoken English; additional languages including German or Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and reliability.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
- Strong team player with effective communication skills.
