We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as a Finance Manager to work in a truly global environment to play a pivotal role in ensuring robust financial control, compliance and insightful reporting, reporting to the Financial Controller. Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee detailed accounting control and monthly closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist in preparing internal management reports and external financial statements, providing support during annual financial audits.
  • Assist in the annual budget preparation, ensuring full accuracy and timely submission.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, providing financial reports with business data & offering strategic financial insights and guidance.
  • Continuously enhance financial procedures and internal controls to streamline operations and ensure compliance.
  • Cooperate in the preparation of local statutory accounts, and local GAAP accounting activities.
  • Prepare weekly cash forecast, monitor cash usage levels and anticipate any potential breach of limits.
  • Manage and support day-to-day tax compliance and reporting requirements, especially in VAT and international trade transactions.
  • Manage local tax periodic calculation and submission, supporting annual transfer pricing documentation.
  • Maintain the risk database to identify risk limits, insurance limits and currency exposure and analysing counterparties financial statements.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or audit roles, preferably within an international company.
  • Experience in commodities trading environments, particularly in commodity trading is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles including IFRS and US GAAP alongside knowledge related to futures and Forex transactions.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial ERP systems, especially in Microsoft Office, Excel and Power BI.
  • In-depth understanding of taxation (VAT of international trade transactions).
  • Demonstrate communication and negotiation skills with a range of stakeholders including clients, suppliers, financial institutions, wider Madrid based team and auditors.
  • Knowledge of financial risk management practices, treasury operations and cash management and understanding of internal audit procedures and controls is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
