Volcafe supports crucial clinic in Honduras

Honduras Clinic Cistern

A Starbucks Reserve Grant supported infrastructure and water sanitation improvements.

The Clinica Materno Infantil in Corquin, Copan plays a crucial role in the well-being of local communities, especially coffee producers and their families. Serving 800-1,000 patients per month, including men, women, and children, the clinic is a vital resource for those in need of medical assistance. However, due to limited government support, the clinic faces significant challenges in maintaining essential services, particularly in water sanitation.

Thanks to a Starbucks Reserve Grant in 2022, Volcafé’s local company, Molinos de Honduras, partnered with Starbucks to improve the clinic’s water sanitation system. The collaboration enabled the construction of a new cistern, ensuring a continuous and reliable water supply – essential for the clinic’s operations and for safeguarding the health of the families it serves.
