Role Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as a Logistics Coordinator is to coordinate, monitor and report on the timely execution of export logistics activities across exporters, logistics providers, and destination.The role supports efficient contract execution through proactive followup on shipment timelines, export documentation, cargo readiness, and operational updates, while ensuring strong communication and visibility across all stakeholders involved in the export process.The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining execution discipline, operational accuracy, and timely information flow across Volcafe’s Ethiopia and destination office teams.

The Logistics Coordinator will report to the General Manager and join the team in Addis Ababa.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensuring immediate registration of purchase contracts by exporters.
  • Keeping a strong line of daily communication between the execution teams of exporters and Volcafe’s destination offices.
  • Maintaining consistent and accurate records on all open contracts.
  • Sharing regular status reports on contract execution with the relevant team members across the company.
  • Maintaining a good working relationship with shipping lines and actively contribute to optimal booking schedules.
  • Proactively follow up on shipment timelines and escalate operational bottlenecks, delays, or documentation gaps affecting execution.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date operational records, shipment trackers, and contract status reports.
  • Provide timely and regular shipment execution updates to traders, operations teams, and destination offices.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with exporters, logistics providers, shipping lines, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support operational reporting, execution analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics and execution processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal operational procedures and export documentation requirements.
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards of operational discipline, accountability, and execution accuracy.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, IT, Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in export logistics, execution, supply chain coordination, or Agri-commodity operations, preferably within coffee or agricultural exports in Ethiopia.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail orientation with proven skills in self- and work management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in both Amharic and English.
  • Able to operate in a modern corporate computing environment, with a background in data management being highly desirable.
  • Experience with coffee or other ag export products in Ethiopia.
  • Interested to learn and grow in coffee sourcing and trading.
  • Advanced computing skills and experience with task automation is considered a plus.
  • Ability to proactively manage shipment timelines, identify bottlenecks, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Amharic and English.
