Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as a Production manager to lead the operational team, while adding value to the business through partnering with all stakeholders to deliver efficient production planning and continuous improvement across all operations. The position is reporting to the Production Manager (Vietnam & Indonesia). The role provides long term development potential for someone eager to demonstrate their skills and experience in the fast-paced soft commodities environment.

This role will be working for PT Volkopi Indonesia, Volcafe’s subsidiary, in Lampung, Indonesia.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Design and implement efficient processing systems for both Robusta and Arabica coffee
  • Optimize processing flows focusing on quality, weight control, and loss minimization
  • Drive operational and strategic processing targets
  • Partner with Quality team to meet client and contractual requirements
  • Ensure quality control across receiving, storage, and dispatch
  • Maintain accurate inventory, reconciliation, and traceability
  • Work with Logistics on intake, warehouse allocation, and stock rotation (FIFO)
  • Ensure accuracy in weight management, documentation, and dispatch timelines
  • Optimize warehouse utilization and infrastructure
  • Oversee maintenance, cleanliness, pest control, and storage conditions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to HSE standards and safe handling practices
  • Oversee compliance in all operational and warehouse activities

 

Skills and Experience

  • Min 5 years experience in management or supervisory role within coffee trading, warehousing, or green coffee handling operations.
  • Demonstrated capability in staff supervision, team leadership, and day-to-day operational management.
  • Practical knowledge of coffee handling processing including receiving, sampling, grading, storage and dispatch.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control, weight management, and accurate documentation verification.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with internal teams, management, clients, and external stakeholders, and address operational issues
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to operational and inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices, including safe handling of chemicals or fumigation substances used in agricultural commodity storage and processing
