Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as a Financial Administrator to work in a truly global environment reporting to one of the Financial Controllers in our Amsterdam team. The role will work as part of a team responsible for performing general book-keeping and financial accounting tasks in accordance with financial accounting principles and group reporting requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain the day-to-day accounts and preparation for month end close
  • Prepare monthly financial performances and quantitative management information
  • Perform credit control and debt collection
  • Accounts receivable and accounts payable (AR/AP)
  • Manage online banking including online payments and transfers
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations
  • Prepare periodic VAT tax returns
  • Prepare corporate accounting statements

Skills and Experience

  • Vocational education degree (minimum) in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant work experience in a similar environment
  • Proven understanding of accounting principles
  • Specific knowledge of finance software and financial reporting systems
  • A strong focus on performance; sets high standards, results orientated and able to maintain performance under pressure
  • Fluency in business English, Dutch is advantageous
  • Determined, resilient and eager to join the ED&F Man business
  • High level of integrity, flexibility, ability to work under pressure and self-reflection are key attributes to perform this role

  • Collecting data and information from primary sources, structuring and analysing data and information for the commercial trading team.

  • Pro-actively keeping the traders up to date on what news, reports and events move and effect the market.

Skills and Experience

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the FP&A Manager in the creation of high-quality management information in a timely manner for the business unit level and corporate centre, as directed by the coffee business unit CFO and senior leadership team.
  • Maintain highly effective relationships with the finance directors and regional controllers for all coffee entities, as well as ensuring a collaborative relationship with the corporate centre.
  • Provides support in designing, developing, and maintaining:
    • High quality, accurate and timely reporting (monthly, forecast and budget reporting for quarterly updates).
    • Monthly OPEX and working capital analysis and reports.
    • KPI´s to measure and optimize the business.
    • Project management – support the senior team with project work by producing financial models, challenging assumptions, managing internal stakeholders, presenting data-driven recommendations, and assisting with execution.
    • Global optimization and value generation projects for the coffee business.
  • Support the FP&A Manager, in preparing financial and strategic presentations for the Coffee business.
  • Seek efficiency and change management opportunities within the organization.

Skills and Experience

  • BA in Economics, Finance or Accounting.
  • Previous experience as a Financial Analyst in a multinational environment.
  • Experience using Hyperion proficiently.
  • Good level of business and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal) and relationship builder; hands-on and self-driven, not in need of a high level of oversight and supervision.
  • Experience in preparing professional reports and presentations.
  • Project management skills.
  • Proactive, goal orientated and collaborative.
