Key Accountabilities

• Design, develop and maintain crop yield and acreage forecasting models using statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Build and manage data pipelines to ingest, clean and process large datasets from government sources, satellite imagery, weather feeds and proprietary data providers.
• Conduct quantitative research on supply/demand fundamentals, price relationships and seasonal patterns across agricultural commodities markets.
• Develop systematic, rules-based models to identify trading signals and opportunities across futures markets.
• Build price forecasting frameworks incorporating supply/demand fundamentals, macroeconomic variables and historical price relationships.
• Collaborate closely with traders to translate quantitative model outputs into actionable trading insights and risk signals.
• Develop and maintain Python-based tooling for data visualization, backtesting and model performance monitoring.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external data vendors into the desk’s analytics infrastructure.
• Document models, research processes, and results clearly and communicate findings to traders and senior stakeholders.

Skills and Experience

• 4+ years of experience in a quantitative, data science or research role within commodities trading, finance or a related analytical field.
• Bachelors Degree educated ideally in the fields of maths, economics or statistics.
• Strong Python programming skills, including experience with libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn and data visualization tools.
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, including ETL processes and API integrations.
• Solid grounding in statistical modelling, regression analysis and quantitative research methods.
• Familiarity with commodities markets and supply/demand fundamentals.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects and operate effectively in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Experience with crop modelling, remote sensing data or weather and climate datasets (e.g. ENSO indicators or soil moisture indices) would be desirable.
• Experience developing systematic or quantitative trading models, including price forecasting or signal generation in commodity or financial markets.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and cloud data platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Understanding of futures markets and commodity price dynamics.
• Experience using version control systems such as Git and working in collaborative code development environments.

The main focus of the role will be to advance Group sustainability initiatives and responsibilities will cover a broad spectrum of ESG activities including:

• Assist in the development of plans for all Business Units (MLP, Sugar, Coffee and Cotton) to meet Group sustainability KPIs.
• Assist in gathering, processing and verifying data to support sustainability KPIs and reporting requirements in alignment with the Sustainability Committee and Technical Working Groups.
• Coordinate KPI results per BU and collate them into Group numbers.
• Track metrics associated with sustainability-linked loan KPIs and report progress to external stakeholders and banks.
• Act as Secretary for Sustainability Committee and Technical Working Groups meetings, including preparation of meeting minutes.
• Support compliance activities such as drafting mandatory ESG reports and statements and coordinating with data owners.
• Lead or support Group or BU External sustainability assessments like Ecovadis and support in resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare businesses for sustainability ratings audits.
• External information requests, including the preparation of responses to sustainability information requests from external stakeholders.
• Lead or assist with other sustainability-related work/projects as needed by the business units and at group level.

Skills and Experience

The ideal applicant will have up to 2 years’ experience. There is no requirement for this to be within a corporate sustainability department, however knowledge or understanding of commercial markets or commodities will be an advantage. We are looking for:

• Strong interest in sustainability, ESG, and responsible sourcing, with an understanding of sustainability frameworks, KPIs and reporting requirements.
• Experience in data collection, processing, validation and analysis to support sustainability metrics and performance tracking.

• Own and maintain the Group’s Climate Action Plan and Decarbonization and Energy Transition plans.
• Develop and lead implementation of decarbonization strategy for ED&F Man facilities and supply chain.
• In collaboration with the Head of HSEQ ensure accurate calculation of GHG emissions owning and maintaining the GHG inventory and methodologies.
• Lead the calculation of Scope 3 emissions, implement measurement frameworks in the Scope 3 calculations software, and advise businesses on improving data registration. Collaborate with IT to enhance data collection and formally approve data entries.
• Ensure data accuracy and completeness before uploading in the Scope 3 calculation software.
• Develop and execute a stakeholder engagement plan to gather primary emissions data and identify decarbonization opportunities.
• Manage and report on climate-related risks and opportunities.
• Utilize methodical approach to maintaining GHG methodologies and evidence trails, ensuring all entity-level data is ready for third-party verification (ISO-14064).
• Provide verified information for the Group’s reports.
• Lead the Group’s Technical Workstream on ‘Environmental Stewardship – Energy and Emissions’ including setting action plans and ensuring results are met.

Skills and Experience

The ideal applicant will have 10+ years experience in climate, sustainability, environmental management or a related field. There is no requirement for this experience to be within a dedicated sustainability team; however, knowledge or understanding of climate strategy, GHG accounting, energy transition or supply chain emissions will be an advantage. We are looking for:

• Strong understanding of climate change, decarbonisation and energy transition concepts, with a solid academic background in a relevant discipline.
• Knowledge and practical experience of GHG accounting methodologies, including emissions inventories and Scope 1, 2 and 3 calculations.
• Familiarity with climate-related reporting frameworks, standards and disclosures, alongside an understanding of climate risks and opportunities.
• Experience managing data integrity within proprietary GHG inventory systems involving a high volume of global contributors.
• Strong general IT and data skills, particularly with Excel, with the ability understand workflows and methodologies.

Key Accountabilities

Trade Execution, Operational Risk and Documentation

• Oversee the full lifecycle of trade execution, including contract fulfilment, documentation and delivery tracking.
• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., contract issuance, trade finance) to ensure smooth contract execution.
• Negotiate and settle final freight payments.
• Maintain contractual records, key correspondence, status, and issue reports.
• Identify operational risks in real-time and proactively implement mitigation plans.
• Ensure appropriate, auditable standards, controls, and governance frameworks are in place, ensuring contracts are legally and ethically compliant.

Leadership and Global Coordination

• Coordinate with the global ED&F Man logistics and execution teams across all commodity trading desks to ensure alignment on freight and third-party providers.
• Review organizational design and talent needs to ensure the team is fit-for-purpose and future-ready as the business grows.

Digitalisation and continuous Improvement

• Lead digitalization of the supply chain operations and logistics workflows, including system integration, automation and performance visibility.
• Design and implement data-driven dashboards and KPIs to monitor trade efficiency and minimize documentation turnaround time, discrepancies, document issuance time and working capital usage across all geographies.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement across documentation, workflows and interdepartmental coordination.

Skills and Experience

• Substantial global logistics management, trade execution or trade operations experience from agricultural soft commodity trading, preferably cotton, although metal trading is also relevant.
• Ability to work on own initiative, self-motivate and lead in high-pressure, time-sensitive trading environments.
• Knowledge and experience of contract management within trading, reimbursements and documentary, letters of credit.
• Deep knowledge of international trade documentation, Incoterms, and port/inland logistics.
• Strategic mindset with a hands-on and problem-solving approach.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate, manage and constructively engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across diverse cultures and regions.

Key Accountabilities

ED&F Man Liquid Products Division is the leading global supplier in molasses, molasses blends and related liquid products as well as dry products for (mainly) the animal feed industry. We are a pioneer as well as a trader in liquid agricultural by- and co-products. We offer expertise in animal nutrition and feed dispense technology to farmers. We work closely with manufacturers, such as rum and yeast producers, to provide quality products from sustainable sources. Our activities include sourcing, shipping, storage and distribution of molasses, molasses blends and other sugar co-products, as well as vegetable and fish oils and beet pulp pellets.

Key Accountabilities

• Completing transactional follow-up with counterparties
• Day-to-day operation of contracts (issuance, checking, amendments and follow-up)
• Preparing, checking, amending and follow up of finance documents, documentary credits, bod bonds, payments, invoices etc.
• Preparing vessel nominations and documentary instructions (B/l’s, Certificate of Origin, customs documents, Health Certificates etc)
• Negotiating key logistical and commercial terms
• Assisting in P&L control by managing operational changes in the system
• Quantity and Quality issue resolution

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate would have all of the experience points referenced above, however the role is somewhat unique in where it sits between typical trading operations and back office, therefore we appreciate that some candidates may have the occasional gap:

• Minimum 5 years of experience with physical operations and/or logistics

Key Accountabilities

• Coordinate, review and drive the financial performance and results of each operation in the given region, including commercial insight and analysis.
• Lead and advise on financial and commercial decisions and consult with the Regional Directors. Candidate must work in close partnership with the respective Head of Supply Chain.
• Develop a consistent and comprehensive set of standards and reports throughout the Region within the broader umbrella of improving financial and commercial support services to the business.

• A degree in finance, economics or business administration.  A professional accounting qualification or MBA highly desirable.
• Proficient in risk management, financial modelling and analysis
• Experience of hedge accounting and trade finance.
